About Qantas Economy Plus
Qantas Economy Plus has arrived, our new seating option in Economy designed to give your customers an even more comfortable way to fly in Economy.
Qantas Economy Plus is now available on our A220 and A321XLR fleet and on select B737 aircraft, on flights across Australia and to popular short-haul international destinations including New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Bali.
Later this year, Qantas Economy Plus will also expand to our Airbus A330 fleet, covering more international routes, including destinations across Asia.
You'll be able to select or purchase an Economy Plus seat for your customers through Manage Booking, or via your Technology Partner.

Expanded forward seating zones
In addition to Qantas Economy Plus, an expanded Forward seating zone across multiple rows in the forward half of the Economy cabin will replace Preferred seating across the broader Qantas fleet, including on widebody international services.
Seats are complimentary for Platinum One and Platinum members. Gold and Silver members also receive complimentary access to Forward seats, with some options available at booking, and others from 24 hours prior to flight departure (subject to availability).

How seat selection works
Seat selection works the same as today. You can choose seats for your customers during booking or at any time before check in via Manage Booking.
When selecting seats, look for the seat product labels Qantas Economy Plus, Forward 1, Forward 2, and so on*. Seats can be selected or purchased based on your customer's Frequent Flyer tier up to 24 hours before departure.
Once check in opens (24 hours before departure), any remaining eligible seats can be selected on a complimentary basis. Access to Qantas Economy Plus or Forward seats will be available exclusively to eligible Frequent Flyers, based on tier benefits.
If no seat is selected, one will be automatically assigned.
Frequently Asked Questions
Qantas Economy Plus pricing varies depending on the route your customer is flying. You can view Qantas Economy Plus pricing for your customer through your GDS or technology partner.
Platinum and above Frequent Flyer members receive complimentary access to Qantas Economy Plus seats at booking, while Gold members receive complimentary access at check‑in (subject to availability). All other customers can purchase Economy Plus seats anytime from booking up until check‑in.

You can select or purchase a Qantas Economy Plus seat by selecting your customer's seat when making their booking. Customers can also select their seats at any time through Manage Booking on qantas.com or in the Qantas App.
We recommend selecting Qantas Economy Plus seats at the time of booking, with the ability to purchase seats available up to 24 hours prior to departure and complimentary selection available at any time prior to departure. Qantas Economy Plus seats will be complimentary for Platinum One and Platinum members, and complimentary for Gold members at check in, subject to availability.
Qantas Economy Plus has been designed to offer customers more choice and added value, with benefits including extra legroom, priority boarding and dedicated overhead locker space.
Our highest tier Frequent Flyer members will now enjoy complimentary access to the new Qantas Economy Plus seats based on their tier status.
With the introduction of Qantas Economy Plus and Forward seating zones, the benefits of selecting a seat at time of booking, or as soon as possible afterwards, will increase. Qantas Economy Plus and Forward seats will remain available for purchase up until check‑in opens, 24 hours before departure. After check‑in opens, access to these seats will be available exclusively to eligible Frequent Flyers, based on tier benefits.
Once check‑in opens, if you haven't selected a seat, one will be automatically assigned and there will be more limited opportunities to select an alternative seat in the cabin. Selecting a seat in advance helps ensure your customers have access to a wider range of options and makes it easier to choose the seat that best suits their preferences.
Important information
Seat selection cannot be guaranteed as seats may need to be changed for operational, safety or security reasons, even after boarding the aircraft. You can select your customer’s seat on all Qantas operated flights (excluding selected regional services).
Qantas Economy Plus seats will be able to be purchased at the time of booking or at any time prior to check in.
All passengers purchasing Qantas Economy Plus accept the Seat Selection terms & conditions.
If selecting a Qantas Economy Plus seat for your customer in an exit row, they must be at least 15 years of age, be willing and able to follow instructions given in English by the crew and satisfy the Exit Row requirements and conditions.
