Introducing the Peace-of-Mind Pricing Waiver
We know fare adjustments can happen quickly and it's not always possible to issue tickets before price changes. This new waiver gives you up to three calendar days to honour the original quoted fare if it hasn't been ticketed.
What do you need to do?
Simply issue the ticket using the waiver within three days of the price adjustment being published by Qantas, or within the Ticketing Time Limit, whichever comes first. No extra steps or approvals needed.
When will we notify you of fare changes?
In the following scenarios, we'll aim to provide a pricing email notification either the day before or on the day of the change. The waiver applies to these and most other fare adjustments:
Important Information
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the Peace-of-Mind Pricing Waiver?
The Peace of-Mind Pricing Waiver allows you to issue or reissue a Qantas fare at pre-increase levels if certain price adjustments result in a fare or surcharge increasing after a booking has been made and prior to ticketing.
2. When is this waiver applicable? This waiver applies only when:
- The booking was made and flights were confirmed before the fare or surcharge increase was published
- The ticket is issued within the original ticketing time limit (TTL) or within 3 days after the increase - whichever comes first
- The booking is an EDIFACT indirect booking
- The ticket is issued on Qantas (081) stock
3. What happens if I've already ticketed my booking?
If your ticket has already been issued before the fare increase, the waiver does not apply. Any changes made after ticketing will be subject to the fare rules and conditions, unless another commercial policy is applicable.
4. Can I use this waiver for reissues as well as new issues?
Yes. The waiver applies to both original ticket issues and ticket reissues, provided they meet the criteria and are done within the permitted timeframes
5. What are the exclusions for this waiver?
The waiver does not apply:
- If the itinerary includes Emirates (EK) prime flights or Qantas codeshare flights operated by EK.
- To Qantas NDC tickets, which are instead governed by the Price Guarantee Ticketing Time Limit (PGTTL). Refer to Qantas NDC Booking Time Limits.
- Any Government imposed charges, airport charges, security charges or taxes, that result in a fare adjustment.
6. What if taxes have changed since the booking?
If any taxes have changed, they must be recalculated and collected. The fare can remain at the pre-increase level, but taxes must reflect current rates.
