Qantas named Australia's most on-time airline for the eighth year running
The latest official government data shows more than 81 per cent of Qantas domestic and regional flights departed on time across the year to June. It is the airline's strongest annual on-time result since 2019 outside the Covid period.
The result sits 3.4 percentage points above the previous financial year and 5.4 percentage points above FY24. Qantas finished around 3.5 percentage points ahead of its major competitor, leading on punctuality in 11 of the 12 months.
The airline also closed the year strongly. Almost 85 per cent of Qantas flights departed on time in June, ranking it the world's most on-time major airline according to aviation analytics firm OAG. It was the fifth time in six months that Qantas has placed among the top three major airlines globally.
Notes:
The Qantas network combines Qantas Domestic and QantasLink flying to provide the most accurate comparison of punctuality for customers across the domestic and regional network.
QantasLink continues to play a major role in the Qantas domestic network, operating around 60 per cent of Qantas’ reported domestic flights and connecting regional communities across the country.
