Information on Tropical Cyclone Alfred off the coast of Queensland

Qantas has now recommenced operations at all airports impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

UPDATE AS AT 2:50PM AEDT 10 MARCH 2025

We would like to thank all our agency partners for their patience and understanding over the past week as we've managed significant disruption and prioritised the safety of our customers and employees.

As our operations return to normal, we are still experiencing some disruption in respect of catering and infrastructure availability. We continue to work closely with the state and federal government and the relevant local airport authorities.

We're offering additional flexibility for customers through our commercial policy for customers who have booked impacted flights on/before 7 March 2025.

Where possible, Qantas will automatically revalidate or reissue the affected coupon/s whenever a disruption occurs. You will need to contact Qantas on + 44 0800 964 432 for assistance if the reaccommodated flights are unacceptable and Qantas has reissued the affected coupons.

UPDATE AS AT 1:40PM AEDT 9 MARCH 2025

Qantas and Jetstar have resumed operations to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Ballina.

Our teams are working to help customers travel in and out of Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW as safely and as quickly as possible and continue to work closely with the state and federal government and the relevant local airport authorities.

We're closely monitoring Tropical Cyclone Alfred off the coast of South-East Queensland and are working alongside airport authorities, air traffic control and airport services providers to ensure any impact to schedules are clearly communicated to customers and our people.

The safety of our customers and people is our main priority and we're working to assess when flights can safely resume.

For impacted flights, our dedicated resolutions team is looking at alternative flight options for customers and will send updated booking details. Customers can also check their flight details through the Qantas App or via Manage booking online.

Qantas continues to closely monitor the cyclone, and we are contacting customers directly with any changes to their flights using the number provided in the booking.

The safety of our customers and people remains our main priority.

Customers are advised to reach out to their travel agents or regularly check the Qantas app, Qantas.com and Jetstar.com, and their email and SMS channels, as we will update them directly.
